Synopsis:

It's time for the St. White festival, and Daisuke has been so busy working on the festival committee that he's forgotten to get a present for his beloved Risa. His mother, in her infinite generosity, forces Daisuke to take a simple white ribbon as a gift. To top it all off, there's a story going around that if a boy gives a white ribbon to a girl and ties it for her on St. White, they will fall in love ...

Review:

I picked this up from the library on a whim. I absolutely LOVE the anime, and I've heard that the manga was better, so I read vol 1 and part of 2.

So anyway, of course the first thing that will strike you in a manga is the art. It's slightly different from the anime, but none the less still adorable. I think Daisuke might be cuter in the manga, though. The St. White Festival Arc is adorable. The manga, though being quite long, moves along faster than the anime. Here, Daisuke is already moving on to Riku in the 3rd volume, while that didn't happen till later mid-series for the anime. Not that that's bad, because I love this couple, so the more time to focus on it, the better. Also, the manga drops a lot of hints in the direction of Risa and Satoshi (which in the anime was only shown for 30 secs on the last episode) and this interests me. I want to see what'll happen to these two.

The Commercial Arc with the Entertainment Mogul guy confused me somewhat though. It's very hard to keep up with who's Daisuke and who's Wiz. (Wiz transforms to look like Dai) There is also something about a compainion to the mask Dark was supposed to steal...? Also, Daisuke constantly talks about "defeating Dark", which I don't really like. (it doesn't appeal to the "Let's all get along" side of me X3) I prefer them working in a team, not trying to beat one another out. But it's early in the manga (there are 10 or 11 volumes) so maybe that relationship will mature over time.

There are extras too, in the back. I haven't had time to read those yet though, but I'm looking forward to it!

EMI'S OFFICIAL RATING: 8/10

(phew! My first review! I know, I was probably comparing it too much to the anime, but I don't really care. I got through it! I will try to review any and everything, from anime to manga to novels to movies. I'll post important things that happen to me too! Thank you for reading!)
